New Fic!!!

Nov. 27th, 2020 04:14 pm
alphaflyer: (Default)
People!!!  After a 4 year hiatus I have committed another MarvelBigBang!!  This one I would never have gotten into but for my co-collaborator [personal profile] alistra.  Doing an Avengers/The Prisoner fusion was entirely her idea; mine was the stratospheric lunacy of turning it into a Big Bang. And then we found our artist, [personal profile] inkvoices, whose amazing work had *made* my previous 3 Bangs tick.  And here, 33,000+ words, 12 chapters and an AMAZING FANVID later, here it is:

Authors: Alistra & Alpha Flyer
Artist: inkvoices

Title: Be Seeing You
Rating: T
Fandoms: The Prisoner (1967) & Marvel fusion
Pairing/Characters: Clint Barton/Natasha Romanoff
Warnings: None apply, see additional tags
Word Count: 33442 words

Summary:

At the height of the Cold War, freelance American assassin Clint Barton and rogue Russian spy Natasha Romanoff find themselves abducted and transferred to a strange village of uncanny cheerfulness. Guarded by an unknown foe, the two rival agents must learn to work together to escape. But there is more at play behind pastel walls and stripy fashions than either of them can even begin to imagine.

Ok folks, I committed another fic.  And ... it has neither Clint nor Natasha in it.  Oops?  But the next one will, promise!

Title:  The Western Shore
Characters: Darcy Lewis, Heimdall, Tony Stark (Yeah, I know. Odd combo. Stay with me here...)
Rating:  T
Warnings: None, unless you're triggered by the idea of ICE agents

Summary:  The space ship comes down in the Sheep Meadow, on the South Side of Central Park. The first response is, of course, military. The second thing that happens, once their leader has made the purpose of the aliens' arrival clear, is the deployment of a field office of the US Citizenship and Immigration Service.

Enter Darcy Lewis, Asgardian Liaison officer with the Department of Damage Control.

So, it’s Clintasha Advent over on tumblr and today’s topic is “colours”.  I usually just send in (self) recs for these, but today I felt a ficlet coming on.  Even though I'm not done with my Secret Santa...   Oops.

The Colour Purple

alphaflyer: (Default)
Title: The Bowling Green Massacre
Authors: [livejournal.com profile] alphaflyer and [livejournal.com profile] inkvoices
Rating/Warnings:  T (some swearing, movie-level violence)
Word Count: 6,600
Summary: Fallaces sunt rerum species.  The truth isn’t all things to all people all of the time.
Author Notes:    Written for the [livejournal.com profile] be_compromised Valentine's Day Promptathon
No cows were harmed in the making of this fic, although we can't say the same of the Brooklyn mafia. The views on protesters, capitalism and politics enunciated herein are strictly those of the characters.

[livejournal.com profile] inkvoices and I did The Thing!  :D

Eighteen months in the making, this almost fell victim to Real Life.  But Ink persevered, encouraged me, inspired me, held my hand...

Title: "Seventh Crow"
Author name:  Alphaflyer
Artist name: inkvoices
Beta name: inkvoices, jrbarton
Characters/Pairing: Clint Barton/Natasha Romanoff; James Bond & Eve Moneypenny; Q; M; Nick Fury; Maria Hill (cameo); Tony Stark (cameo);
Fandom/Universe: MCU/Avengers, James Bond/007 (Craig movies)
Rating: PG13
Word count: 34,000
Warnings: Canon-typical violence; swearing; two or three allusions to recent traumatic election processes
Summary: "One for sorrow, Two for joy ..."  A long life in intelligence has taught M one thing above all: Criminal organizations are like a tick embedded in the skin of humanity; you can never be sure you have pulled out the entire thing. What remains causes disease to take hold and fester.

Read it on AO3: Seventh Crow

Art and video by Inkvoices also on AO3 Guys, watch the video!!  It's awesome!!!

Posting this for [livejournal.com profile] geckoholic, who has been having issues with her LJ not behaving.

_______

I’m beyond certain I’ll regret doing this at some point or other, but hey, whatever. I am doing it. Or we are, I hope, because I need y’all to participate in order to make this fun. I obviously can’t swing it alone.

If you are new to fic exchanges, I highly recommend referring to [livejournal.com profile] flyingcarpet's fantastic Guide to Participating in Fic Exchanges, from Someone Who Knows for all you need to know.

Before you read any further, please be aware that this is a shippy exchange. If you participate, you must be prepared to give and receive content that depicts the Hawkeyes (Clint Barton and Kate Bishop from the Marvel comics universe) in a romantic relationship with one another. Not platonic. Not being bros. Romantic, and possibly sexual.

This exchange is supposed to be lowkey and easy-going, so I didn’t set up a separate account. You don’t have to follow me to participate, though. You can track #hawkeyesxmas2016 for updates, and I’ll send out important announcements via email for all signed up participants.

RULES

If you request something, you must be willing to create something for someone else in return. Keep the identity of your giftee secret; they’re not supposed to know who you are until you post.

You do not have to have an AO3 account to participate, but a valid email address and a tumblr account are necessary.

Please use this form when submitting your requests. You can give prompts, but those will be optional for your gifter. Every participant is bound, however, to respect the DNWs (DNW = DoNotWant) their giftee mentions in their signup.

Fics should be a minimum of 1000 words and complete upon submission. Multi-part fics are acceptable, but they must be completely written when they’re submitted (meaning: I need to see all the parts by the deadline) and completely posted within the posting period. Requirements for art are as follows: one piece of traditional or digitally drawn art of a reasonable size (500 px in the square, at least) OR a playlist with at least six songs and a cover OR a photo set that contains at least eight images that have been visibly altered and edited to create something beyond mere cropping and coloring (mood boards, AU gif or photo sets, etc.). You’re free to write longer fic or add more items of art to your submission, if you’d like to, but those are the minimum requirements everyone has to produce.

Please note that you will not be able to choose whether you want to be gifted with art or fic. If you offer prompts in your signup, please make sure at least some of them can be interpreted for any medium, and keep this in mind for your likes and DNWs too.

You may post a dear-creator-letter after you signed up if you like, and expand on your likes or give more prompts. If you do, please put it in the #hawkeyesxmas2016 tag so both me and your gifter can find it. Every participant or lurker is encouraged to track these letters as well and post treats during the posting period; those don’t have to adhere to the minimum requirements, they just have to be addressed to the giftee whose prompts or likes you used. More content is a good thing, right? :D

By the time submissions are due, I’ll need the completed item from you. Fics won’t have to be beta’d and art can still be in need of finishing touches, you can still fiddle with it before you post, but it should otherwise be finished. If you miss the submission deadline, you will get one reminder via email. If you ignore that as well, I will pass your assignment on to a pinch hitter (or maybe cover it myself; that is a possibility and I think I should make y’all aware of beforehand :P). You may still complete your submission at a later date and post it after the official exchange is done, but you will be out of the exchange and get a strike that excludes you from participating in next year’s round.

Please submit all items to hawkeyesxmas@gmail.com as an attachment (for fic, please stick to word documents or RTF files; for art, please use common formats like PNG or JPG) by the submission deadline.

All fic MUST be beta-read by the time it is officially posted. If you cannot find a beta-reader, please let me know so I can see if I can find one for you.

The submissions are required so I can be sure that everyone’s done and ready for posting, and so that I can assign pinchhitters if needed. But you will post your items yourself, during the posting period, using the tag#hawkeyesxmas2016.

There is an AO3 collection for the exchange here.

To signup you MUST be 18 or older. I don’t want to put anyone in the position of writing or drawing NC-17 content for a minor, nor do I want to give a NC-17 request to a minor to fill. You will have to confirm in your request that you are 18 or older.

Please email the me via hawkeyesxmas@gmail.com if you think you will need an extension. Please do not wait until the last minute. Be honest with me, give me a valid reason, and I’ll give you the extra time you need. Dropping out without any warning could result in banishment from future exchanges.

Dates for Round 1 (Christmas 2016)

Sign-ups open: October 10th
Sign-ups close: October 24th
Assignments sent: October 31st at the latest
Submissions due: December 15th
Posting period: December 20th - December 31st

Now go forth, my lovelies, and sign up. And most importantly: HAVE FUN, EVERYONE!

__________

And, a note from your sponsor:  I SIGNED UP.  A foray into a new dimension -- shipping Clint with someone who is NOT Natasha.  Or Laura.  Or Bobbi.  Or Melinda May.  Or ... You know what?  I think I can do this!!

Title:  Nocturne
Characters/Relationships:  Pepper Potts, Clint Barton, Rocket Raccoon (background Tony/Pepper, Clint/Natasha)
Rating:  PG-13
Warnings: None (unless you find some swearing warning-worthy)
Summary: At night you meet the oddest people, and garbage can become a matter of perspective.

Author's Note: This one was meant for the Promptathon, written to my own prompts (because, it seems, that's something I do).  But... Real Life and deadlines are incompatible at times, so here it is, two weeks late.

Title:  "Diamonds and Rust"
Rating:  PG-13 (no warnings)
Characters: Clint Barton, Kate Bishop, Lucky the Pizza Dog
Relationships: Clint & Kate

Summary:  Kate is back.  There's going to be laundry.

Title:  "The Futurist"
Characters:  Tony Stark (plus everyone is in his head: Clint Barton, Natasha Romanov, Wanda Maximoff, Steve Rogers, Peter Parker, Laura Barton, heck - even Scott Lang, even if he can't remember the guy's name)
Relationships:  Sorta, but only if you squint: Tony/Pepper, and way in the background, Clint/Laura
Summary:  Tony, rattling around.

A/N:  If you read my Civil War review, you will have guessed that those Sokovia Accords really bugged me, from a legal standpoint.  Plus, I thought Tony wasn't done thinking about what happened.

So, you've joined this wonderful exchange that is no doubt going to include the coolest chicks on LJ and AO3 (or anywhere, really)?  Hee.  So have I! Let's make fun fics together!

So for asks I listed three fandoms, one Bourne, two Marvel.  Happy for crossovers among them!  (Also, if you pick the Marvel ones, feel free to insert other MCU like Agents of SHIELD or Guardians of the Galaxy -- what's not to love...! What happens when the tree that turned up overnight in front of the Mansion starts to talk?)

I'm open to all sorts of relationships, because I love exploring different dynamics, but don't expect them to be necessarily romantic -- so don't feel the need to write them that way.  So much more fun to write friendship, snark, or head-butting, IMHO. Not a huge fan of slash anyway, especially the Big Three, Steve/Bucky, Steve/Tony or Clint/Coulson.  Male or female friendship is great!

No-go's for both writing and receiving include graphic violence, torture, death!fic (killing off evildoers is fine), sexual violence, A/B/O, or baby!fic.  I'm also not big on threesomes or polyamory.

I like reading mission!fic, snark, banter, unexpected situations (from hardened pros being forced into an IKEA, or Doreen the cafeteria lady turning out to be a multi-fanged alien); post-movie tags with or without angst.  Bureaucracy interfering -- or assisting -- with avenging (oh hey, they just made a movie about that!)

Prompts?  Oh, anything coming out of Cap3. What happens after Cap springs his teammates from the raft?  Does Clint go home to Laura and the kids?  Does he meet Natasha in a cafe in Florence?  Does Pepper tell Tony he's blown all his chances, or does she come back to fix him up again?  Will Vision need to buy new sweaters?

Or Kate... This time Clint is really in for it.  Seriously.  That woman in the shower -- who the hell is she?  And ... Just how did she end up babysitting both a dog AND a cat?

But really -- do what you want (except for those no-go's).  I'm sure I'll love it!  Have fun!

Title:  "Tell Me On A Sunday"
Characters: Laura Barton, Clint Barton, (Nick Fury, Natasha Romanoff -- background)
Summary: When the black car turns into the long driveway that leads up to the farm, Laura knows it can mean nothing good.

A/N:  Written for a long overdue Halloween treat (I assume no one checks that post anymore, so I'm posting the story here ...) for foolondahill17, and for findthesea, who once said she was wondering how Laura fares, always waiting for the worst on that farm.

So, this is still unedited and unbeta'd (meaning not quite ready for prime time/AO3), but I promised it for tonight and I'm already past the deadline, so ...

Warnings in this section for an instance of domestic violence.

Red Wedding, Parts 3 and 4 )
alphaflyer: (Clint shades)
Written for [livejournal.com profile] kiss_me_cassie's prompt "Mission:  Wedding".  Alas, it got away from me a bit lengthwise and hence isn't quite finished yet, but I wanted to post it before the promptathon turns into a pumpkin!  (Hope the mods allow ...) Parts 3 and 4 should be done tomorrow, at which point I will also edit this baby and post it on AO3. Unfinished and unbeta'd because time constraints, RL and nasty cold.

Red Wedding )
alphaflyer: (Kate)
Author: [livejournal.com profile] alphaflyer
Title: By the Book
Characters: Clint Barton, Kate Bishop, Natasha Romanoff, Tony Stark, Lucky the Pizza Dog, Jessica Dawson (Background), Bobbi Morse (Background)
Relationships: Clint Barton/Natasha Romanoff, Clint Barton & Kate Bishop
Length: app 8,400 words
Summary: Clint Barton's love life isn't just a car crash, it's a multi-vehicle pile-up. Kate decides to lend a hand.

Author's Note: This story was initially written for a Hawkeye Bang, from which I had to withdraw when I got sucked into an RL vortex. The piece draws most of its inspiration from the Matt Fraction Hawkeye run (without being slavishly canon compliant), with a dash of Avengers Assemble #5 and a hint at events from the MCU. A mash-up, really, but that’s what fanfic is for, right?

Thanks to my beloved beta, [livejournal.com profile] jrbarton. I added a few bits after she was done, so any glitches are mine. A belated birthday present for [livejournal.com profile] geckoholic.

Thank you for writing a story for me!

Here's what I like:

Competence porn.  Banter.  Smart- and badassery.  Professionals doing what they are good at, and damn the bureaucracy. Respectful relationships with everyone, although I can make exceptions when the guys leave the toilet seats up.

I like the guys generally, so am perfectly happy to have them show up in the background, via cameo or reference (including inferred relationships).

Happy with crossovers (e.g. between Avengers/Thor/IM/Cap movies, Agents of SHIELD, and Guardians of the Galaxy.

Here's what I'm not fussed by:

Romantic or sexual relationships for their own sake -- I prefer a good character piece, friendship or mission!fic to people jumping into bed just because fanfic.  Women being established as superior by virtue of making the guys look like incompetent morons. (Putzes in ordinary life, they can be, of course!)

I don't really care for Daredevil, and haven't seen Jessica Jones, so appearances by characters from those shows will be lost on me.

Not a fan of death!fic.  At all.  And please no torture, graphic violence, A/O/B, and the like.
alphaflyer: (Corner Clint)
A precious few free minutes, while the coffee was dripping and my husband not yet out of the shower, coincided with a prompt from [livejournal.com profile] meatball42 over on [livejournal.com profile] be_compromised:  "Making Moonshine."  The result: distilled fluff.

Country Boy )

Also on AO3, here, as part of "Moments" (a collection in which you find 20 other ficlets of varying moods, tone, AOU compliance and quality).
alphaflyer: (Clint shades)
Written for [livejournal.com profile] clarahow and the [livejournal.com profile] be_compromised Halloween trick-or-treat meme.  Expect no substance here.

“Remind me why I have to wear that stupid fedora again? It wrecks my sightlines.”

Ficlet under the cut )
alphaflyer: (Clint shades)
So someone left a comment on Double Deuce, to the effect that it was "... too bad they didn't give Peter [Quill] the iPod as well as the Walkmen."  I suppose yes, Tony and Natasha could have sacrificed an iPod to their new friend. This is what happens when he discovers he wants the thing after all, it'll give him an excuse to come back!

Ace in the Hole )
alphaflyer: (Clocks)
Title: Homeward Bound:  The Adventures of the USS Avenger in the Delta Quadrant
Author: [livejournal.com profile] alphaflyer
A Gift For: [livejournal.com profile] celeste9
Rating:  Teen
Warnings: None (some off-screen death and movie-level cataclysms
Prompt used: I really, really love team fic, so please feel free to include any other characters you like. I enjoy clever AUs where the characters still remain recognizable in different circumstances... And here was the ringer, the thing that made me jump at Celeste's prompt: Star Trek fusion with Clint and Natasha in Starfleet. How could I resist...
Summary: Sent to track the rebel ship Black Widow and to try and persuade her captain and certain of her crew members to work with Starfleet in defeating the Chitauri invaders, the USS Avenger under Captain S. Rogers finds itself displaced to the other side of the galaxy.
Author Notes: This prompt was a no-brainer for me, since I already had my cast of AU characters all lined up thanks to a request I picked up during last year's December Talking Meme. Plus, my first two years in fandom I wrote exclusively for Star Trek: Voyager, so... :-)

Of course, though, I would pick a topic that begs to be a $#%&ing epic, in a summer when RL is kicking me in the teeth with, among other things, a transatlantic move.  Needless to say, the epic did not happen.  But I think I got enough of the story together to give my giftee a sense of where it is headed (with a bit of interim closure) -- and there's a promise that there will be more to come!! (Right after I get my MarvelBang under some kind of control...)

I hope my Giftee will forgive me that this isn't complete.  Me, I'm just happy that I managed to slide in under the wire...

Homeward Bound: The Adventures of the USS Avenger in the Delta Quadrant (Parts 1 and 2) )
alphaflyer: (Hawkeye Aja silhouette)
Title:  Angel of Mercy, Angel of Death
Author: [livejournal.com profile] alphaflyer
Rating:  T
Warnings:  war time violence

Summary: Clint Barton turns up in a refugee camp that is under attack -- but is he the answer to a prayer, or a just another nightmare? An aid worker's perspective.

Author's note: Sometimes it bears remembering what “master assassins” actually do for a living, and why the MCU goes to some pains to show us that being saved by the Avengers can be a distinctly mixed blessing. Inspired by the lyrics of Angel of Death, by HoneyHoney.

A companion piece, of sorts, to "In the Service".
